About Corgi
Cori was founded in 1892 by Carmarthenshire draper Rhys Jones. Inspired by the purchase of some second-hand knitting machines, Rhys began producing thigh-high woolen socks for local coal miners. Over time, his collection grew to include finer quality socks, perfect for men to wear to church on Sunday. His attention to detail and quality soon developed a global reputation as a luxury sock brand. In 1989 Corgi was honored by the award of a Royal Warrant from HRH the Prince of Wales and continues to make socks for members of the Royal Family. Corgi is still a family run business using traditional production methods. Their factory is located in the same mining town.
