Royall Lyme was launched in 1957 by Mr. Gaade, a renowned Bermudian yachtsman and competitor in international races. He created a line of gentlemen’s toiletries and grooming aids that capture the essence and spirit of Bermuda. The first fragrance, Royall Lyme, uses a recipe that traces to an ancient Caribbean formula obtained from Harbor Islanders. Packaging also embraces the Bermuda Spirit. Bottles are semi-hand-made glass, wrapped in parchment paper, and waxed sealed. In 1960, Royall Lyme was introduced at Brooks Brothers and was an instant hit. Not long after, Royall Lyme went international to London, Milan, and beyond.
