After the Civil War, Col. Ichabod Conk traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he dated a woman who owned several barber shops. After marrying her, he became proficient in barbering and decided to sell their products across the West, making him one of the original traveling salesmen. Col. Conk became a wealthy man for that time and continued the business until he died in 1898. Reborn In 1972, Colonel Conk built a worldwide reputation for their quality glycerine shave soaps, and over the years, they expanded to a full line of quality shaving products, flasks, and gift sets.
